Dickinson Seniors Shine in Centennial Finale vs. Swarthmore

(Carlisle, Pa.)- The Dickinson College women's lacrosse team celebrated senior day in style with an 18-7 win over visiting Swarthmore on Saturday. All seven Red Devil seniors scored, while Dana Bunting (Bishopsville, Md./Worcester Prep) tallied her 100th career point as well.

Dickinson wasted very little time taking control of the game, scoring in the opening 12 seconds and taking a 10-0 lead just 11 minutes into the contest. The Devils held a 12-0 lead until Annalise Mowry put the Garnet on the board at the 4:34 mark. Dickinson held a 14-2 advantage at halftime behind an outstanding first half from senior goaltender Caitlin Kingsley (Katy, Texas/Ridgefield), who made five saves in the first half. She finished with six on the day.

Swarthmore scored to close out the half and struck with three straight to open the second, cutting the lead to 14-5. The teams traded goals before senior defender Rachel Jones (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) netted her first collegiate goal. Renee Welker (Butler, Pa./Shady Side) moved into the attack to score while classmate Rachel Bradburd (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Friends Central) scored her first collegiate goal as well.

Bunting led the attack with a pair of goals and four assists. Amy Jennings (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) added a hat-trick early in the game while Kelsey Muir (Glen Mills, Pa./Notre Dame) and Lucy West (Bethesda, Md./Holton-Arms) each scored twice.

Ana Sokol (Colts Neck, N.J./The Peddie School) controlled the midfield with five ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers. Sunnie Ko (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) controlled four draws as well. Jean Dahlquist made nine saves in goal for Swarthmore (9-8, 1-8).

The Red Devils improve to 10-6 overall and 6-3 in the Centennial Conference. They will be the #4-seed in the CC playoffs and will host the first round game on Wednesday.
