Cabrini Edges Colorado College in Regular Season Finale
RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's lacrosse team wrapped its regular season schedule with a 12-11 win against non-conference opponent Colorado College Sunday at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Junior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) totaled six points on six goals in the victory.
Junior attack Erin Nollen (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) posted three points, pairing two goals with one assist. Sophomore attacks Jaime O'Hanlon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and Kristen Vernon (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) each recorded two points with one score and one helper.
Junior attack Kellie Levy (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) and freshman attack Jacqueline McDermott (Secane, Pa./Ridley) each deposit one goal off the bench.
Senior defender Christiana Romano (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) scooped a team-high five groundballs. Senior defender Chrissy Regan (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) and senior attack Kerri Ricker (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley) notched four.
Alexandrowicz and sophomore defender Courtney Davis (Madison, N.J./Madison) each collected a club-best three draw controls.
Junior goalkeeper Kate Schmid (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) claimed her 10th win of the season with 10 saves.
Colorado jumped out of the gates and grabbed a quick 3-0 lead less than four minutes into the contest. The Cavaliers responded with an 8-0 run, holding the Tigers scoreless for the remainder of the first half.
Alexandrowicz triggered the spurt, scoring four the run's first five goals, including three consecutive to begin the scoring. Nollen's second goal of the half with 2:44 remaining capped the decisive swing.
The Tigers scored first to begin the second stanza and trimmed its deficit to three goals, 9-6, at the 16:36 mark. Alexandrowicz's fifth goal of the afternoon pushed the Cabrini lead back to four goals with 14:18 remaining.
Colorado answered with a 4-1 run, pulling to with one goal, 11-10, at the 4:16 mark. Alexandrowicz's unassisted marker just 62 seconds following provided the Cavaliers with a much-needed insurance tally.
The Tigers' last gasp came from a freshman Bailey Terhune goal with 1:07 on the clock. However, the Blue & White claimed the draw control to seal the victory.
Terhune and sophomore Gioia Garden each recorded five points on four goals and one assist. Sophomore Claire Draudt registered four points on four assists, all in the second half.
Senior goalkeeper Jess Van Doren played the first half and notched seven saves in the loss. Junior Valerie Cranmer posted five stops in relief.
The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament commences Saturday, April 25 for the quarterfinal round. The semifinals will be played Wednesday, April 29 and the final is scheduled for Saturday, May 2.

RADNOR, Pa. – Cabrini College used an 8-0 run during the first half to build a five-goal lead and then held off a furious Colorado College comeback in the second half to post a 12-11 victory over the Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
Bailey Terhune scored twice as CC jumped out to a 3-0 lead during the opening 3:58, but the Cavaliers took advantage of 20 Tiger turnovers and scored eight consecutive goals during a span of 22:16 to build an 8-3 lead.
Gioia Garden scored three of her four goals in the second half and Valerie Cranmer stopped five of the nine shots she faced to spark the Colorado College comeback.
The Tigers pulled to within one goal on two different occasions during the final five minutes, but that was as close as CC would get. Garden and Ali Zarlengo struck for a pair of goals in a span of 24 seconds to make the score 11-10 with 4:16 to play, but Amanda Alexandrowicz answered with her sixth score of the game just over a minute later to give the Cavaliers a two-goal advantage.
Terhune's fourth goal cut CC's deficit to 12-11 with 1:07 to play, but the Tigers were unable to net the equalizer. Claire Draudt had a career-high four assists for Colorado College. The Cavaliers converted on four of 11 free position attempts, while CC was unable to score on either of its two chances.
The Tigers dropped to 10-5, while Cabrini improved to 10-4 Colorado College will play host to the Colorado State University club team in the regular-season finale on April 30 at Washburn Field.
