Dominican Falls to Seton Hill

Orangeburg, NY (4/19/09) -- The Dominican College men's lacrosse team lost a non-conference game to the visiting Griffins of Seton Hill University, 11-3 this afternoon at the DC Lacrosse Field.

The Griffins started the game off with six unanswered goals until sophomore attacker Jesse Peterson (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) netted an unassisted goal with just under six minutes remaining in the second quarter to put DC on the board, trailing 6-1.

SHU opened up the third quarter with a goal to increase their lead to 7-1, but a 2-0 spurt by Dominican cut the lead to 7-3. Christopher Jones (Saugerties, NY) netted the unassisted goal, followed by a goal by senior Jeremy Arcaro (New Windsor, NY) off the pass by Peterson. The Griffins closed out the game with a 4-0 run en route to the 11-3 victory.

Peterson led the Chargers with two points (one goal, one assist) on the day. Goalie Brendan Bonacum (Port Jefferson Station, NY) tallied 12 saves in the loss.

Freshman Grant Bridges (Bel Air, MD) led the Griffins with five points (three goals, two assists), while five other SHU players finished with two points a piece. Goalie Corey Struss (Pittsburgh, PA) made 10 saves in the victory.

With the win Seton Hill improves to 8-4 overall, while Dominican falls to 2-9 overall.
