Dominican Falls at Philadelphia U. in Season Finale

Orangeburg, NY (4/22/09) -- The Dominican College women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2009 season with a loss to host Philadelphia University, 18-5 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's lacrosse action.

The Rams opened up the game with a four straight goals before junior attacker Ashley Ordemann (Toms River, NJ) netted the unassisted goal with 20:42 remaining in the first half. Seven minutes later Philadelphia regained a four goal lead, but CACC Rookie of the Year, Aubree Williams (Great Meadows, NJ) scored the unassisted goal to cut the lead to 5-2.

With just under ten and a half minutes left in the first half the Rams went on another 4-0 spurt to take a 9-2 lead. Ordemann ended the first half with her 24th goal of the season off the dish from Williams as Philadelphia cruised into halftime with a 9-3 lead.

Philadelphia opened up the second half with a seven consecutive goals to extend their leadt o 16-3. DC closed out the game with a 2-0 run as Ordemann completed the hat trick after converting a free position shot and Williams netted her 44th goal of the season with 1:31 to go in the game.

Ordemann and Williams led the Lady Chargers with three points each, as Ordemann tallied three goals and Williams had two goals and one assist. Junior goalie Lindsey Grundfast (Saugerties, NY) had 22 saves in the loss.

Dominican ends the 2009 season with a 3-10-0 overall record and a 2-8 mark in the CACC, while Philadelphia improves 8-7 overall and 8-2 in the CACC.
