#8 Tufts Wins High-Scoring Shootout over St. John Fisher

LANCASTER, Pa. – #8 Tufts hung on to a 20-18 win over St. John Fisher (11-7) in Saturday's NCAA Regional Semifinal. The victory advances the Jumbos (16-3) to Sunday's Region Final where they will face #2 Franklin & Marshall. Opening draw is set for 1:00 pm.

Down 4-3, with 5:54 left in the first half, the Jumbos went on a 9-1 scoring run that ended at the 25:47 mark in the second half with the score12-5. Chrissie Attura scored two goals and dished out an assist and Amanda Roberts added two goals during the scoring run.

This is where the game got interesting. Each team exchanged a series of goals leading to 24 combined points scored in the half. With the score 20-15 in favor of Tufts, St. John Fisher scored three consecutive to come with in two with under 30 second left. The Jumbos won the ensuing draw control and were able to run the clock out.

Four Jumbos recorded multiple points. Jenna Abeli and Roberts both scored four goals. Courtney Thomas had three goals and an assist while Attura ended with three goals and two assists.

Lauren Glavin led the way for the Cardinals, scoring five goals and dished out an assist. Meg Merriam added three goals and two assist for St. John Fisher.
