Heup Named MVP of North-South All-Star Game
Capping off an outstanding career as the goalkeeper for the University of Louisville lacrosse team, senior Jen Heup was named as the MVP of the IWLCA/Under-Armour North-South Senior All-Star Games for Division I. The games were played at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pa. as part of the Champions Cup Tournament.
"I am so proud of Jen and thrilled the received such a coveted honor," said Kellie Young. "We will miss her next year as she begins the next stage of her life."
Heup, U of L's first-ever and only senior for the young program, led a stingy Cardinal defense and captained the U of L team as they made their first ever BIG EAST Tournament appearance. Heup, of Davidsonville, Md., posted a 10-3 record. She caused eight turnovers and scooped up 30 groundballs.
"This is a pretty awesome accolade," said U of L assistant coach Lisa Staedt, echoing Young's sentiments.
