Colorado College's David Zazzaro Announces Resignation

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - David Zazzaro, head coach of the Colorado College men's lacrosse team since 2002, has announced his resignation effective July 8.

"Working at CC was a gift that I will always cherish," said Zazzaro. "I am proud of our accomplishments over the past eight years and I feel humbled that the players, coaches and I contributed, in a small way, to positively enhancing the Colorado College men's lacrosse story."

Zazzaro steps down after posting a 52-44 (.542) record in eight seasons with the Tigers. His career ledger stands at 122-96 (.560) including nine previous years at the Colby College helm.

"I'd like to thank David for his eight years of service to the students of Colorado College," said Ken Ralph, director of athletics. "We all wish him the best in his future pursuits."

"At this time, after being a head coach for 17 seasons, I feel like it is time to pursue other opportunities," Zazzaro said. "I am grateful for all of the fond memories and friends that I have made with the students, coaches, parents, alumni, and staff during my time here."

The men's lacrosse program returns 28 players next spring from the 2009 team which posted a 9-6 record. A national search for Zazzaro's successor will begin immediately.
