Molly Ortolano Named Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Siena

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Molly Ortolano (Or-da-lon-oh) was recently hired as assistant women's lacrosse coach at Siena College. Ortolano graduated from UAlbany this past May as a two year letterwinner on the women's lacrosse team. She will assist with all aspects of the program.

"I am thrilled to have Molly join our program as a former Division I student-athlete," said head coach Andrea Duffy. "She has great experience to draw from and I feel that she will have a great impact with our student-athletes achieving our team goals."

Ortolano (East Nassau, N.Y./Albany Academy) has worked local lacrosse camps the past four summers. In 2007 and 2008 she served as Albany Elite's head coach. Her responsibilities included coordinating and coaching weekly practices and tournaments. She also worked Colonie's Youth Center lacrosse camp as both a counselor and director. She taught basic and intermediate skills to girls age 10-13. As director she was responsible for administrative tasks and hiring coaches.

Ortolano earned her bachelor's degree in history with a minor in education. She was UAlbany's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative for women's lacrosse this past year, organizing fund raising efforts for non-profit organizations and participation in community service projects.
