ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's lacrosse program has further positioned itself for a strong run at its first conference crown with the addition of 15 talented freshmen for the 2010 campaign.

Head coach Cindy Timchal announced her third full recruiting class just over two months after her Midshipmen squad recorded 13 wins and reached the Patriot League Championship game.

"To date, this is the best class I have had the privilege to recruit to the Academy," said Timchal. "It's a large group full of talented athletes that will bring lots of speed and really raise our overall level of athleticism. We're excited about bringing these young women here and believe they will play a major role in helping us take that next step as a program."

The incoming class consists of players hailing from five different states, including eight Maryland natives (and four local products from Anne Arundel County).

The group also features a pair of recruits from the lacrosse hotbed of Long Island, twin sisters from Pennsylvania, as well as the younger sister of Navy rising senior defender Tori Wiedmeier.

Navy elevated to varsity status in the June of 2006, and has kicked off its Division I tenure in terrific fashion, reeling off 26 wins and earning Patriot League Tournament appearances in each of its first two seasons.

This spring, the Mids will bring back four conference all-stars and nearly all of its scoring (top nine scorers return) from 2009.

Grace Bojanowski - 5-7 - Goalie - Baltimore, Md. – Towson

Jasmine DePompeo – 5-8 – Midfielder - Sayville, N.Y. – Sayville
