MLL All-Star Game Set for Thursday, July 16 on ESPN2

DENVER - INVESCO Field at Mile High and the Denver Outlaws are hosting the 2009 Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game on July 16th. While the League used an East vs. West format for the past two seasons, this year's game will return to the popular Old School vs. Young Guns format taht was featured in the 2005 All-Star Game, which also took place in Denver. The Young Guns squad consists of players from the 2007-2009 classes, while the Old School squad will be made up by those players from the classes in 2006 and earlier.

The 2009 Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 (8:00 p.m. MT). Joe Beninati and Quint Kessenich will be calling the action. Halftime will include the Bud Light Skills Competition, which consists of three events: the fastest shot competition, the two-point competition, and the freestyle competition. Matt Danowski of the Long Island Lizards will be one of three players representing the Young Guns squad in the fastest shot competition. In the contest, players get two shots each, which must be taken from a spot 10 yards from the goal. Fastest shot wins, but shots must score to count.

For their annual July 4 fireworks display and game, the Denver Outlaws drew out a record 21,952 fans to INVESCO field for their contest against Boston, eclipsing the previous record of 20,116 set last 4th of July.
