LAURINBURG, N.C.-St. Andrews Presbyterian College Athletic Director Glenn Batten announced Kati Robbins as the new head coach of the women's lacrosse program on Wednesday, effective immediately.

"We are thrilled to have Kati Robbins joining the St. Andrews athletics program," said Batten. "Coach Robbins has a strong coaching background and the leadership qualities that make her an ideal head coach for St. Andrews student-athletes. We are confident that she will continue to build on last season's women's lacrosse program success."

Robbins comes to Laurinburg and the St. Andrews community after spending the past three seasons as the head women's lacrosse coach for her alma mater, Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. She developed a winning program at Wittenberg increasing the team's win total during each of her three seasons. Robbins coaching career at Wittenberg was capped by the program's first North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Final Four appearance in six seasons. She has also increased her team's GPA over her tenure at Wittenberg.

"I am ecstatic to be named the new lacrosse coach at St Andrews Presbyterian College and being a part of such a dedicated academic and athletic institution," expressed Robbins.

Robbins will be taking over a Lady Knights lacrosse program that is coming off a record-setting season. The team finished with an 11-8 overall record and a 7-5 ledger in Conference Carolinas play (both win totals are new school records).

"I am fortunate to be coaching in an area where lacrosse is growing every day," added Robbins. "I am looking forward to adding onto the success of former coach Lyndsey Boswell and bringing a conference championship to St. Andrews. I would like to thank Glenn Batten and the St Andrews Presbyterian College Athletic Department for giving me this opportunity and look forward to the success we will achieve as a program."

Robbins was a dual sport athlete at Wittenberg, playing field hockey in the fall and women's lacrosse in the spring. She excelled as a lacrosse player for the Tigers including being named the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2001. Robbins was a four-time All-Conference selection and a four-time All-Region honoree.

After graduating, Robbins started her coaching career as an assistant coach with Gwynedd Mercy College, College of Wooster, and Franklin & Marshall College before returning to her alma mater. She has additional experience as a coach for numerous lacrosse camps including All-American Lacrosse, Villanova Lacrosse, Nike Lacrosse Camp, and Franklin & Marshall Lacrosse.

Robbins graduated from Wittenberg in June of 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies.
