Monmouth Lacrosse Coach Kelly Van Zile Resigns
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Monmouth University head lacrosse coach Kelly Van Zile has resigned for personal reasons [to raise her newborn daughter], Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Marilyn McNeil announced on Thursday.
Van Zile compiled a 48-28 overall record in four seasons as head coach, including a 27-5 mark in Northeast Conference play. She led the Hawks to consecutive NEC Tournament titles in 2006 and 2007, her first two seasons at the helm of the program, and also led MU to at least a share of the regular season crown in both 2006 and 2008.
A national search to find her replacement has already begun.
