Boston College Honored as a Division I Academic Squad
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association recently announced that Boston College has earned Division I Academic Squad honors for 2009. The Eagles are one of only 49 schools in the nation to receive the award and join Duke and Maryland as the three universities represented by the ACC.
The announcement comes shortly after four Eagles earned individual honors by being selected for the 2009 ACC All-Academic team. Lauren Costello, Emily Hannigan, Maura Mahoney and Jenna McCabe were each awarded for their outstanding achievement in the classroom.
Teams that have a collective GPA of 3.0 or greater earn the distinction of Academic Squad; the squads with the three highest team GPA's earned the honor of being named a Merit Squad.
