Presbyterian Adds Six Recruits for the 2010 Campaign

CLINTON, S.C. – Head men's lacrosse coach Jason Childs, in conjunction with the Presbyterian College athletic department, is pleased to announce the addition of six student-athletes. Thomas Baugh, Donald Brown, James Cupo, Jack Miller, David Spadacene, and Edmund Williams will be joining the team for the 2010 season.

"I am really excited about the athleticism and lacrosse ability these young men bring to our program," Childs said. "We have become so much more athletic just with these young men. Each have experienced successful high school careers and will help continue our development into a solid Division I lacrosse program."

Baugh is a 6-0 midfielder from Cornelius, N.C. He graduated from Christ School. During his senior season, Baugh garnered all-state honors. Baugh was team MVP, played in the Crown City Classic and was a Great 38 selection. He also played club ball for Team Charlotte for three years while spending two seasons with Team Carolina.

Brown is a 5-11 midfielder/attacker from Huntington, N.Y. A graduate of John Glenn H.S., Brown was a three-year letterwinner. During his senior campaign, Brown amassed 28 goals and 13 assists. He was nearly as productive his junior season, tallying 27 goals while dishing out 12 assists. A multi-sport student-athlete, Brown earned letters in football, basketball and lacrosse his last three years. Brown was also a scholar-athlete and was named academic all-county.

Cupo hails from Chattanooga, Tenn. The 5-9 midfielder graduated from The McCallie School. Cupo garnered All-America status for his junior season. That same season, he was first-team all-state.

Miller is a 5-11midfielder from Wading River, N.Y. A graduate of Shoreham Wading River, Miller helped guide his team to a No. 13 national ranking. That same year, he won 87 percent of his faceoffs. In 2007, he guided his school to the New York state title. Miller garnered first-team all-county honors as a senior to go along with his team MVP accolades. While playing for Team Long Island, he helped the club squad earn a Tri-State National Championship.

Spadacene is a 5-11 defender from Bethel Park H.S. A native of Bethel Park, Pa., Spadacene was a three-year letterwinner. During his junior season, Spadacene's stellar play earned him a spot on the all-county squad.

Williams is a 5-10 goalie from Charlotte, N.C. A graduate of Providence Day School, he earned all-conference honors as a junior. Williams also played for the Team Carolina club team. He helped his team to the Evogame championship while earning MVP honors.

The Blue Hose open their season at Delaware on Feb.13, 2010.
