William & Mary Lacrosse Announces 2009 Fall Schedule

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Sept. 17, 2009) -- William and Mary lacrosse head coach Christine Halfpenny has announced the Tribe's 2009 fall schedule. The slate features a pair of contests against in-state opponents as well as two multi-team events.

W&M will open the fall season with a contest at Virginia on Sept. 23 before traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C., on Oct. 3 for games against North Carolina and Vanderbilt. Four days later, the College will make the short trek to Norfolk for a matchup with conference foe Old Dominion (Oct. 7).

The Tribe will hit the road one final time on Oct. 17 for the Navy Tournament, which is scheduled to feature Bucknell, Cincinnati, Denver, Florida, Longwood, Louisville, Navy, Oregon, Richmond and Robert Morris. W&M will then wrap up its fall ledger the following Saturday with the annual Alumni Game in Williamsburg on Homecoming Weekend.

Tribe fans will be able to follow the team online this fall with the Tribe Lax Fall Blog. Each week, players will give fans an inside look at the team with posts on TribeAthletics.com.

W&M returns nine starters from last season's team that earned the program's second-consecutive CAA regular-season championship and ranked 20th nationally in the final regular-season IWLCA poll.
