Louisville Women to Take on Bellarmine Men on Friday

It will be the Battle of the Sexes, but for a good cause this Friday, when the Bellarmine men's lacrosse team takes on the University of Louisville women's lacrosse team September 25th at 3:30 pm at U of L Lacrosse Stadium. The game will be a fund raiser for the Louisville Lacrosse team as they raise money for in honor of Pediatric Brain Tumor Month.

As the only two Division I lacrosse programs in Kentucky, the two squads will face-off using women's lacrosse rules with all proceeds benefitting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in honor of U of L's adoptee Emily Beck, who is battling cancer.

"Friday's event is important on so many levels," said U of L head coach Kellie Young. "We are excited about connecting with the Bellarmine men's lacrosse program and continuing to build a united lacrosse community in Louisville. Even more importantly, the event is supporting a very important cause to our program, Pediatric Brain Tumor research."

"Lacrosse is not just a sport...it is a way of life and Friday our community is coming together to raise funds fin honor of our adopted angel, Emily Beck, and other children living with and battling the brain tumor beast. Please come out and support this all important effort ... $3 and a few minutes of your time is all it takes. In return, you get to watch the local men's and women's division I programs battling it out for a worthy cause."

Admission is $3, which goes toward the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. For more information on Emily Beck and the foundation, visit www.firstgiving.com/emilybeck
