Derek Pedrick Joins Siena Men's Lacrosse Staff

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. Siena men's head lacrosse coach Brian Brecht announced the completion of his coaching staff this afternoon with the addition of assistant coach Derek Pedrick (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs).

Pedrick will be responsible for coaching the face-off players, the goalies and the defensive midfielders as well as managing game day substitutions. Pedrick ranks fourth all-time in scoring at Saratoga Springs High School.

"We are very excited to have someone of Derek's experience join our staff," Brecht said. "His coaching experience at Trinity College and Wooster College, combined with his playing experience at Springfield College will be an asset to our program."

Pedrick arrives from the College of Wooster (Ohio), where he served as assistant coach from 2007-09. He was responsible for coaching the offense, man-up, and face-offs. During his time there, Wooster recorded its highest win total (11-3) in school history and its man-up unit ranked 12th in the nation.

Prior to that, Pedrick was an assistant coach at Trinity College (Conn.). He coached the offense and face-offs, assisted in daily planning of practice and managed game-day substitutions. Pedrick helped lead Trinity to a 3rd place finish in the NESCAC with a 9-6 overall record and coached the 4th ranked face-off player in Division III.

Pedrick was a four-year letterwinner at Springfield College (2002-05), playing in 67 career games and recording 83 points (72 G, 11 A). He won three league championships (2003-05) and the ECAC Tournament (2002) while playing for the Pride. Pedrick served as student assistant coach for Springfield College in 2005. He earned his bachelor's degree from Springfield College in 2006.

Siena matched a program record last year when it won 12 games. The Saints won their first MAAC Championship and made their first NCAA Tournament appearance.
