W&L Set to Host VMI in 23rd Annual Lee-Jackson Classic

LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee University and Virginia Military Institute will continue their lacrosse rivalry on Friday, October 2 with the 23rd playing of the Lee-Jackson Lacrosse Classic at 7:30 pm on Wilson Field.

After playing the classic during the traditional spring season for the first 20 years, the game moved to the non-traditional fall season during the 2007-08 school year where it has continued to serve as a community event for the City of Lexington and the two institutions.

Following the game the Lee-Jackson Lacrosse Classic trophy will be presented to the winning team and the MVP from each team will be honored with the Worrell-Fallon Award.

Admission to the game is free and Washington and Lee will be having a 50/50 raffle during the contest in an effort to support the growth of youth lacrosse. Proceeds from the raffle will go to support Lexington Lacrosse, the community youth lacrosse organization.
