Florida State Seminoles Announce 2010 Schedule

The Florida State Men's Lacrosse team has announced a 16-game schedule for the spring of 2010. The schedule features games against nine teams ranked in the final MCLA Top 25 Poll on CollegeLAX.us and includes games against four conference champions.

The Seminoles will begin their 2010 season on January 29th with an indoor lacrosse exhibition against the University of Florida in Orlando's Amway Arena. The exhibition will be played as part of a double-header with the new Orlando Titans indoor lacrosse team.

The Seminole's regular season will begin at home against Auburn on February 6th. The next weekend, the Seminoles will travel to play SELC South Division opponents Central Florida (Feb. 13) and the University of South Florida (Feb. 14). The game against Central Florida will be part of the 2010 Face Off for a Cause to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

The following weekend, the Seminoles will host Boston College (Feb. 19), Georgia (Feb. 20), and Michigan State (Feb. 21) for the 2010 Southern Shootout. The Seminoles have won 7 of the past 8 Southern Shootouts. Florida State concludes February with a divisional game against the University of Miami on February 28th.

In March, the Seminoles will travel to California for 4 games over an 8-day span. The Seminoles will play at Chapman (Mar. 6), at Loyola-Marymount (Mar. 8), and at Cal-Poly (Mar. 12) before playing Texas in Santa Barbara on March 13th. The Seminoles' game against Cal-Poly will be a rematch of the First Round of the 2009 National Championship.

The Seminoles return home to face Stanford (Mar. 20) and Illinois (Mar. 22) before closing out a busy month of March with a trip to Knoxville to play Virginia Tech (Mar. 27) and the University of Tennessee (Mar. 28).

Florida State closes out their regular season on April 10th against the University of Florida. The game will be the first ever lacrosse game played on Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium, and will precede the Seminole football team's annual Spring Game.

"I think we've put together a great schedule," said Seminole head coach Bill Harkins, "We're going to be playing some quality competition, we've got some great trips to California and Knoxville, and we're going to play in some exciting events like the indoor exhibition, the Wounded Warrior Project's 'Face Off for a Cause,' and playing at home versus our arch rivals in Doak Campbell Stadium. We can't wait."
