WEST LONG BRANCH - Monmouth University women's lacrosse coach Denise Wescott recently announced the Hawks fall schedule, which includes a number of tournaments and the annual alumni game.

"For the team, it's the first chance to start a new year," said Wescott. "We'll be able to see where we are going to be able to go this year and things we need to work on. It's always fun for the athletes to have an opportunity to compete as well as learn how to compete well.

"As a coach, you never know what you're going to see in a game as opposed to practice. I am looking forward to seeing them compete in a game situation. It is going to help us look and see where we can play certain players and what kind of leaders we have on the field. We are going to put them into some extreme circumstances to see how they react."

On Sunday, Oct. 4, Monmouth will travel to upstate New York to compete at the Marist Tournament, where Wescott will get a first glimpse at her new team. The Hawks with face the host Red Foxes along with Wagner and LIU.

The Hawks will then play in the United Sports Training Center Fall Classic in Downingtown, Pa. on Oct. 10. After USTC Fall Classic Tournament, Monmouth will travel back to Pennsylvania to play in the Lehigh University Tournament. That tournament takes place on Oct. 16, and features the host Mountain Hawks and the St. Joseph's University Hawks. The following Thursday, MU will play at Georgian Court University.

Wrapping up the fall season will be the annual alumni game on Saturday, Oct. 24 before the homecoming football game. The game will take place on Kessler Field and start at 10:00 a.m.
