Siena Men's Lacrosse Announces Team Captains
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Brian Brecht announced 2010 team captains this afternoon. Seniors Mike Whalen, Kyle Vercruysse, Matt Leithead, and Faus Bernabo will lead the Saints on the field this season.
"These four captains along with our eight seniors will have the great responsibility of leading and preparing our program for the 2010 season," Brecht said. "I feel confident that all four student-athletes have the program's best interests in their hearts and look forward to seeing them mold together all the talents this current team has and putting their stamp on the 2010 season."
Whalen (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Putnam Valley) played in all 18 games last year at defensive midfield. He scored two goals and added two points, caused six turnovers and had 10 ground balls.
