Boston College Names Captains for the 2010 Season
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Seniors Lauren Costello, Blair Clancy, and Peyton Killeen will serve as the captains of the 2009-2010 Boston College lacrosse team.
Costello started all of the Eagles' games last season, as well as every game during her career, leading the team in points in 2009 with 52 and tying for the team lead in assists with 18.
Clancy played in and started 15 of the team's games during her junior season before being sidelined by an injury. In her previous three years at the Heights, she has racked up 15 ground balls, 11 draws controlled and caused 21 turnovers.
Killeen saw playing time in 14 of BC's games as a junior during the 2009 season. As an Eagle, she has tallied eight points, 14 ground balls, 15 draws controlled and has caused seven turnovers.
"On and off the playing field these three individuals have proven they have the willingness and capability to lead a young and talented 2010 team," Head Coach Bowen Holden said. "Each one brings something unique and important to her captaincy, and our entire coaching staff is looking forward to working closely with them in the year ahead."
Boston College will open its home fall schedule this weekend with games against Yale and Vermont on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 1:15pm and 3:15pm at the Newton Campus Lacrosse field.
