Sewanee Men's Lacrosse Welcomes Class of 2013

Sewanee, TN Sewanee's Head Coach Marty Watters announced the program's class of 2013 on Monday. "We have a very strong class this year" said Coach Watters. "We have 12 newcomers and they've had a great fall. The fight for playing time is going to be very competitive this spring and we'll have a level of depth we have not had before. We're all very excited for the season."

Patrick Dudley Defense Baltimore, MD/Boys' Latin School
Along with lacrosse, Patrick played for Boys' Latin's football team. He's a big, mobile defenseman with a great deal of potential.

Joe Irby Midifeld Lexington, VA/Rockbridge County High School
Joe was a 4 year varsity lacrosse player at Rockbridge. As a junior and senior, he earned team co-mvp honors, while scoring a combined 53 goals and 39 assists. During the summer of '08, Joe was member of the Virginia Elite club lacrosse team. Joe was also a standout football player at Rockbridge and is currently a member of Sewanee's team.

Marty Johnson Midfield Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Catholic
Marty helped Charlotte Catholic to state championship titles as a junior and senior. Primarily a face-off man, Marty did see some time on offense and scored 2 goals in the state finals last year as a senior. Marty was also a member of Team Charlotte.

Pierce Leonard Midfield Charlotte, NC/Culver Academy
Pierce attended Culver as a junior and senior. During his time there, Pierce was a member of two state championship teams, scored a combined 62 goals and 38 assists, helped captain the team as a senior, and garnered All-State Honorable Mention and 2nd Team All-State as a junior and senior, respectively. Pierce was also selected to the University All-Star game at the Top Star camp in the summer of '08.

Drew Lincoln Midfield Princeton, NJ/The Hill School
Drew was a 3 year varsity letterman for Hill's lacrosse team. As a senior he scored 10 goals and chipped in 16 assists. Drew was also a member of Hill's water polo team.

James Millard Attack Alexandria, VA/Deerfield Academy
James was a member of Deerfield's varsity team as both a junior and senior. In both years, Deerfield earned a New England Championship.

Thomas Moore Midfield Dallas, TX/Episcopal School of Dallas
As a sophomore and junior, Thomas scored a goal in the Texas State Championship game. ESD won the title in '07 and were runner-ups in '08. Thomas was a member of Team Dallas as a sophomore and played in the Texas Division I all-star game as a junior. He was also selected to the Denver Team Camp all-star game in the summer of '08. Thomas was also a standout soccer player in high school, playing for one of Dallas' most select club teams. Unfortunately, due to injury, Thomas was forced to sit out his senior year.

Slater Ottenritter Defense Towson, MD/St. Paul's School
Slater was a standout three sport athlete at St. Paul's. In the fall he was wide receiver for the schools football team. In the winter, Slater played squash and was one of the areas highest rated players. On the lacrosse field, Slater played long stick midfield, splitting time as a junior and stepping into a starting role as a senior.

Carson Pfeifer Attack Louisville, KY/Louisville Collegiate
Carson was a 4 year varsity player at Louisville Collegiate. As a senior, while helping his team to a state championship game appearance, Carson scored 57 goals and dished out 22 assists. He was an All-State selection as a junior and senior and earned All-American status as a senior. Carson also played for Team Kentucky in the summer of '08.
