Great Plains Becomes 63rd US Lacrosse Chapter

BALTIMORE – US Lacrosse, the national governing body for the sport, announced the addition of the Great Plains Lacrosse Association as US Lacrosse's sixty-third chapter. US Lacrosse has grown to 63 regional chapters in just 12 years since the organization's inception. The Great Plains chapter covers the greater Kansas City area and includes Kansas and Missouri.

Each of the national governing body's chapters exists to provide US Lacrosse programs and services to its local membership. Men's and women's youth lacrosse clinics, coaching education clinics, and officials' clinics are a few of the US Lacrosse programs offered through these regional chapters.

"US Lacrosse is proud to add the Great Plains chapter to our national organization," said Erin Sturgis, director of chapter relations for US Lacrosse. "We've seen a great growth spurt in the Kansas City area due to the dedicated volunteers and great leadership in the new chapter region."

The Great Plains chapter of US Lacrosse is hitting the ground running by bringing the US Lacrosse Fast Break program to the region, which will include a Level 1 Coaching Education Clinic slated for Feb. 6 in Kansas City, Mo.
