Midwest/West Region Games of the Week, Feb. 26-March 3

Lacrosse season is here in several states, and the games are good from the get-go. Here are some of the match-ups that are worth the price of a ticket in both Texas and California in this week and next.

Friday
Kingwood (TX) vs. Cy-Fair (TX)
Both teams are off to solid starts this season, and you expect this game to be close. Kingwood might be the most improved team in the state and already has three wins. But look for Cy-Fair to have a slight advantage playing at home.

Saturday
Berkeley (CA) vs. Foothill (CA)
It is the opening weekend for lacrosse in the Golden State, and Berkeley and Foothill will be looking for a good start. Foothill has to be considered the favorite, but both teams are coming off solid seasons a year ago.

Monday
Palisades Charter (CA) vs. Culver City (CA)
After winning 12 games last spring, Palisades Charter hopes to keep building on its success. Culver City has come a long way in a few years, and a win over the Dolphins would be a stellar start to the season.

Tuesday
Plano (TX) vs. Dallas Jesuit (TX)
The Rangers are in the midst of a tough stretch of games, and Plano will be a difficult opponent. Plano, which already has lost a few games this season, should get motivation from back-to-back losses to Jesuit to end their season last year.

Wednesday
St. Mark's (TX) vs. Highland Park (TX)
One of the state's best regular season games happens this Wednesday. Look for a great match-up between two of the Lone Star State's best in midfielder Fred Addy of St. Mark's against defenseman Chris Hipps of Highland Park.
