Blazers Trounce Lancaster Bible in Home Opener

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's lacrosse team (1-1) rolled to a 21-3 nonconference win over the visiting Lancaster Bible College Chargers (0-1) Tuesday afternoon in the Blazers' home opener at Thomas Athletic Field.

The Blazers scored early and often against the Chargers as eight different players contributed at least one goal. Junior Kelsey Blackwell, freshman Caitlin Lawrence, senior Brandy Noel and sophomore Katie Vu all registered four goals apiece. Sophomore Julia Banks netted a pair while senior Lauren Perzan, sophomore Helene Butler and freshman Jessie Teague notched single tallies. Perzan also netted five assists on the afternoon.

Hood, which owned a 13-1 advantage at halftime, outshot LBC 30-13 and controlled 19 of the game's 26 draws.

Sophomore Sam Liptrap made seven saves as she picked up her first win in goal of the season.

Hood returns to action Thursday when it travels to Capital Athletic Conference foe Wesley College for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
