Greensboro Wins in a Romp over Agnes Scott
Greensboro, NC -- Ashley Nolen (Lothian, MD/Southern) scored three goals and passed for six assists as Greensboro College defeated visiting Agnes Scott, 24-4, at Pride Field on Saturday. GC won its USA South opener and improved to 4-1 overall. The Scotties droped to 1-1 and 1-1 in confference play.
In GC's big offensive outing, Layne Woodard ( East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) had five goals and three assists, Melissa Gallaher (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) netted four goals and one helper, Toni Battaglia (Palm Beach Gardens, FL/Jupiter) scored thre e times and dished one assist, Kendra Allbritton (Lake Mary, FL/Lake Mary High) potted three goals and fellow freshman #Brittany Ziobor had one score and assisted twice.
GC was ahead 16-4 at halftime. The Pride led in shots (49-5) and draw controls (22-7).
Mia Jacintho stopped 21 GC shots. Scottie Rebecca Rowe had three of ASC's four goals.
The Pride hosts LaGrange College on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
