No. 4-Ranked Limestone Flies Past Fort Lewis

GAFFNEY, S.C.- The No. 4-ranked Limestone College women's lacrosse team defeated Fort Lewis College 20-1 on Monday afternoon at Saints Field. Limestone climbs to 5-0 on the season as the Skyhawks fall to 0-2.

The Saints were led by Chelsea Caiazza's (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) four goals. Katie Ilott (Brooklin, Ontario, Canada) and Renee Albro (Purcellville, Va.) each had a hat trick. Kelly Oterson (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) and Britt Howard (Oswego, N.Y.) each scored twice as six more players scored in the win. Lauren Smith (Greer, S.C.) led Limestone with two assists.

Ilott had a game-high seven draw controls as Caiazza added four. Albro had two draw controls. Four goalies saw action for the Saints. Starter Brigid Milchling (Cockeysville, Md.) had one save in the first 15 minutes. Rashelle McLellan (East Lyme, Conn.) finished out the first half. Michaela Reynolds (Columbia, Md.) started the second half for Limestone and was relieved by Jennifer Pipitone (North Babylon, N.Y.), who recorded one save.

The Saints held the 13-7 advantage on ground balls, an 18-5 advantage on draw controls, and the 27-5 advantage on shots. Limestone was 9-11 in clears as the visitors were 4-8.

Fort Lewis' lone goal was scored by Paige Juneau in the second half.

The Saints host Indiana University of Pennsylvania on March 11 at 3:30 p.m. at Saints Field.
