WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 15, 2010) – Junior Katy Tyszko knotted the score at 13 with 47 seconds remaining in regulation, sending the game into overtime. But Rollins (3-3) was unable to come out ahead as a goal from seventh-ranked University of New Haven's Sarah LaGoff with 32 seconds to go in OT pushed the Chargers (1-0) to a 16-15 victory over the Tars.

After falling into a six goal deficit in the beginning of the second period, Rollins used a late second half explosion in the final seven minutes of regulation to even the score and send the showdown in extra periods.

Tyszko led the Tars with four goals and an assist on the evening for five points overall. Joining her on the scoreboard was senior Marissa Giannerini, with four key goals of her own to keep Rollins in contention. Tori Snow netted a hat trick, while Liz Connelly notched two goals and two assists on the night.

Rounding out the goal count for the Tars were Erica Pagliarulo and Sophie Townsend with one apiece, with Sarah Ann Showell dishing out an assist on a Snow goal early in the first half.

Pagliarulo and Snow led the game in draw controls, with six and four, respectively. Three Tars collected four ground balls each as Snow, Allyssa Emens, and Laura Wilkin got the job done on lose ball opportunities. Defensively, the Tars caused 12 turnovers, with Pagliarulo racking up three, and Emens and Snow causing two apiece.

Emens set aside seven shots on the day, including five in the first half, as she saw a total of 30 shots and 23 shots on goal. Her counterpart, Maureen Spellman, held the Tars at bay with 15 saves, including 10 in the second half to keep the Chargers in contention after the Rollins comeback bid late in the game.

The Chargers were headed up by Ashley Ferrandiz, who tallied five goals and two assists to lead the contest in overall points. Behind Ferrandiz, Natalie Lieberman and Laura McLean each notched a hat trick, while LaGoff and Sarah Magnone placed two balls each in the cage. Carolina Marrero closed out the goal scoring for UNH with one, while LaGoff assisted on two to total four points in their season opener.

The first half saw plenty of action, with a quick lead change and the score tied twice early in the game. The Chargers never led by more than two as the Tars went goal for goal throughout the first 30 minutes of action. A late goal from Giannerini with four seconds to go before the half pulled the Tars back to within one, with a score of 6-5 as the teams entered into the break.

UNH fired first in the second half with a goal from Marrero on a free position attempt to pull back to a two goal advantage, but Pagliarulo ripped an unassisted goal seven minutes later to pull back to one with a score of 7-6 on the board with 20:43 on the clock.

Pagliarulo's goal gave Giannerini the chance to even the playing field a minute later, as she placed a ball past Spellman to put the score at 7-7 with 19:56 to go in regulation. But the Chargers found their footing with a goal from Lieberman off of a LaGoff feed to pull ahead 8-7 with 17:27 on the clock.

Lieberman's goal started a six goal run from UNH over the ensuing ten minutes, placing Rollins in a six goal deficit with a score of 13-7 with 7:41 remaining in regulation. But Giannerini kicked the Tars into high gear, igniting a six goal comeback sprint over the course of six and a half minutes, including Tyszko's game tying free position shot with 47 seconds in regulation to send the contest to overtime action.
