Texas vs. Out of State Powers

It's a big weekend of action in the Lone Star State as the two best in Texas take on stiff out-of-state competition. It starts on Thursday when Mullen (CO) faces off against St. Mark's (TX). Each team is undefeated and has shown they are among the favorites for a state title in the early going.

On Friday, Highland Park (TX) takes on New England prep school power Loomis Chaffee (CT). Saturday is a flip-flop of sorts, when Mullen plays Highland Park and St. Mark's plays Loomis Chaffee. Loomis Chaffee features the Learys, A.J. at attack and Kevin at midfield, who are both going to Hofstra. For Mullen, watch for attackman Brian Kormondy who signed with Delaware. St. Mark's has a strong midfield with Fred Addey (Princeton) and Jeff Perkins (Dartmouth). The defense for Highland Park features some great athletes including Chris Hipps (Duke).
