No. 4 Limestone Powers Past Shippensburg to Go 8-1

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.-The No. 4-ranked Saints defeated Shippensburg University 18-4 in women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon. Limestone improves to 8-1 on the season as the Raiders fall to 2-1.

The Saints' Chelsea Treat (Penn Yan, N.Y.), Kelly Oterson (Islip Terrace, N.Y.), and Renee Albro (Purcellville, Va.) scored three goals apiece. Katie Ilott (Brooklin, Ontario, Canada), Kristen Demarzi (Huntington, N.Y.), and Raquel Prager (Seaford, N.Y.) each scored twice. A total of nine Limestone players scored in the win.

Chelsea Caiazza (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Ilott had 5 draw controls each, while Erin Growney (Rochester, N.Y.) had 4. Albro led the team with 3 ground balls. Brigid Milchling (Cockeysville, Md.) had 2 saves.

Karen Schnurr scored 2 of the Raiders' goals, with Katie Brewer accounting for Shippensburg's other point.

The Saints dominated on the attack, outshooting the hosts 35-7. Limestone also had the 11-9 edge on ground balls while winning 20 of the contest's 24 draw controls. Goalkeeper Meghan Kearney had 12 saves in the contest.

Limestone hosts Belmont Abbey on March 24 at 4:00 p.m. at Saints Field in Gaffney, S.C.
