Marywood Routs Penn State-Abington

Abington, PA Marywood University built a 6-0 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 25-1 win over Penn State-Abington in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon. The Pacers got points from 17 different players in the victory to improve to 5-1 on the season, while the Lions see the record slide to 0-5.

Nick Parks (Emmaus, PA) opened the scoring for Marywood with a goal just over a minute into Saturday's game before Brian Roerden (Warwick, NY) doubled the Pacers' advantage two and a half minutes later. Parks would add his second goal of the game at the 6:22 mark while Dustin Sturdevant (Binghamton, NY), William Roerden (Warwick, NY), and Jamie Beagan (Patchogue, NY) also scored first half goals.

Seven different Pacers would find the back of the net to give Marywood a 13-0 lead at halftime and Marywood would add 10 goals in the third period. Dante Frederico (Woolwich Township, NJ) netted his first collegiate goal at the 11:38 mark of the fourth quarter before the Lions' Chris Bracht spoiled the Pacers' shutout bid with an unassisted goal with 4:11 to play. Nick Stoud (Gibson, PA) would close out the scoring by finding the net with 2:26 to play.

Jesse Habich (Broomall, PA) made two saves in the first quarter and was credited with the win. Nicholas Cornella (Wantagh, NY) made three saves in 15 minutes of action, Eric Luhrmann (Glens Falls, NY) made two stops in 15 minutes, while Michael Saccomani (Feeding Hills, MA) played a quarter without making a save.

Rob Swab (Bloomfield, NJ), Nick Ferrante (Toms River, NJ), and Joe LaBella (Allentown, PA) each had four-point games, all on three goals and one assist, to lead the Pacers' attack.

Marywood opens conference play next Saturday when the host Neumann University in a Colonial State Athletic Conference game scheduled to face-off at 3:00 p.m. in Scranton.
