Husson Powers Past Rivier in Home Opener

In their home opener, the Husson University Eagles cruised by the Rivier Rangers for a 20-1 win. Ben Landry (So., Lewiston, ME) paced the Eagles with four goals and four assists on the victory. With the win, Husson improves to 1-4, while Rivier falls to 0-2.

The Eagles controlled the ball throughout the game against first-year team Rivier, outshooting the Rangers 84 to 4. Husson's first home goal of the year came off of Landry's stick with an assist from Nick Brown (So., Sabattus, ME). On the game, Husson registered 63 ground balls to Rivier's 18.

Rivier's Partic Bruenn (Fy., Meriden, CT) got on the scoreboard with 3:34 left in the final period for the Raiders' only goal of the game. Bruenn was assisted by Randy Perrine (Ry., Merrimack, NH). In goal, Rivier's Matt Besaw (Ry., Glens Falls, NY) tallied 29 saves.

Husson will return to action on Saturday, March 27 at home against St. Joseph's. Gametime is set for 1:00. Rivier plays on March 27 against Maine Farmington.
