Pacers Down Cedar Crest, Cruise to Third-Straight Win

Allentown, PA Marywood University defeated Cedar Crest College 24-6 in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon for their third consecutive victory. The Pacers, who have scored at least 20 goals in each of their last three games, improve to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in the CSAC while the Falcons fall to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Kelly Kuzicki (Vernon, NJ) opened the scoring for Marywood on Saturday with an unassisted goal just over two minutes into the contest, but Cedar Crest's Kelly Oakes tied the game just 10 seconds later. Taylor McKeown (Nashua, NH) put the Pacers back in front at the 26:52 mark, but the Falcons again tied the score on a goal by Jesenia Holguin.

McKeown scored off after taking a pass from Meg Barbarino (Binghamton, NY) at the 18:38 mark to start a run in which Marywood outscored Cedar Crest 8-2 to close the half with a 10-4 lead. McKeown finished the first half with three goals to lead the Pacers, who also got first half tallies from Allie Sodl (Coplay, PA), Jennifer Silvestri (Warwick, NY), Alexis Willey (Hummelstown, PA), and Kelly Kryspin (Hopatcong, NJ).

Holguin scored her second goal of the game two minutes into the second half to cut the Falcons' deficit to 10-5, but the hosts would come no closer as Marywood scored 14 of the game's final 15 goals to pull away for their third-straight in.

McKeown led all scorers with nine points on six goals and three assists. Willey had seven points on three goals and four assists while Sodl finished the afternoon with six points on four goals and two helpers.

Katie Sullivan (Merrick, NY) made 11 saves to earn her fifth win of the season for Marywood, who held a 46-19 advantage in shots and a 27-19 edge in groundballs.

The Pacers will play their fifth game in seven days when they make their home debut tomorrow afternoon against Keuka College. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Scranton.
