Boxers Open California Trip with Win over Fontbonne

LOS ANGELES - Pacific opened up their four-game women's lacrosse road trip to Southern California by breaking a two-game losing streak Saturday, beating Fontbonne 9-7 at Occidental College's Patterson Field.

Monica Smith (So., Wilsonville, Ore.) led the way for the Boxers (3-2), scoring three goals. Abby Coleman (Sr., Beaverton, Ore.) added two goals while Kelly Stevens (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), Kaitlyn Harper (Fr., Oregon City, Ore.), Christine Nishida (Sr., Kailua, Hawaii) and Elise Talboy (Fr., Boise, Idaho) each scored one goal.

Katie Radeackar was the leading scorer for the Griffins (5-2), collecting three goals. Fontbonne outshot the Boxers 30-18.

Brittany Hartmann (Fr., Portland, Ore.) earned the win in goal for the Boxers, , making 11 saves in the win.

Pacific returns to action on Monday when they face Pomona-Pitzer at 7:00 p.m. The Boxers will also face Occidental on Wednesday and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps next Saturday to close their trip.
