Western Region Players of the Week, March 22

By Brent Manney

This week we look at two game-changers in California—including a midfielder who scored eight goals in one game—and a midfielder in the Pacific Northwest who is on an early-season offensive tear.

Justice Fleischman, Midfield, Acalanes (CA)

Fleischman was a one-man wrecking crew in Acalanes' 12-11 victory over Amador Valley in the Golden State. The eight goals by the young midfielder was the difference and proved the Gamecocks are a legitimate team this season.

Hugh Foster, Goalie, Corona Del Mar (CA)

Every big save mattered for Foster and his teammates in their huge 7-6 overtime win against Foothill-Santa Ana. Foster has filled the shoes left by Andrew Noto, posting 18 saves in only his second varsity start, propelling the Sea Kings to an early season victory.

Taylor Wisman, Midfield, Northshore (WA)

Taylor Wisman did not waste any time showcasing his skills this 2010 season. He accumulated 14 points in the first two games of the season against Overlake (WA) and Skyline (WA), accounting for half of his team's points. Wisman is also the Walax.com Player of the Week.
