Queens Outgunned by Rollins in Second Half

The Tars' defense held their opponents to just four goals and 12 shots in second half action. Led by sophomore Tori Snow with seven draw controls, Rollins dominated Queens in off the draw 21-14. With six Tars winning three or more ground balls, led by Surpless with six, Rollins led the game in total ground balls 38-30.

Laura Wilkin, Gabi Lombardi, Suzanne Gainey, Steph Wiedenhofer, and Lacy Goodwyn combined efforts on defense to help goalie Alyssa Emens, who made a total of nine saves on the evening.

Queens goalie Rebecca Markle saw plenty of action as she set aside 17 shots after facing 55 total Rollins shots, and 39 shots on goal. The Royals were led in scoring by Brittany Barnwell with a game high five goals, while Kelley Duffey notched three goals and an assist.

The Tars return to action on March 30, 2010, when they travel to No. 6 West Chester University in West Chester, Pa. Game time against the Golden Rams is set for noon.
