Colorado College Comes from Behind to Defeat Regis

DENVER Ginna Oates tied the game with 5:12 to play and Holly McHugh scored the game-winning goal 1:48 later to give Colorado College an 12-11 come-from-behind victory over Regis University on Monday afternoon.

After Gioia Garden gave the Tigers a 10-9 lead with 14:23 to play, Margaret Nahrup and Cristina Johnson scored back-to-back goals that put the Rangers ahead with 8:50 remaining in the game.

Colorado College used a 4-1 run to build an 8-5 lead when McHugh scored with 3:14 to go while the Tigers were down a player, but the Rangers answered with six of the next eight goals to take their final lead.

In her first collegiate game, Hadley Bergh scored a pair of goals for CC. Maggie Defanti, Grace Maloney and Kristin Rider added a goal and an assist apiece.

Nine of the 22 Tigers who played scored a goal.

Johnson had three goals and an assist to pace Regis. AriAnna McDonal scored twice and set up another, while Erin Dybus and Jessika Carlstro notched a pair of goals.

Abby Fink made seven saves for Colorado College and improved to 4-0 in goal. Brittany Farniok stopped three shots for the Rangers.

Regis won 15 of 25 draw controls and had a 32-24 advantage in ground balls.

The Tigers improved to 4-0, while Regis dropped to 1-4.

Colorado College returns to action on Thursday against Morrisville State College at 3:30 p.m.
