Washington & Jefferson Shuts out Saint Elizabeth

MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- Nine different Presidents scored goals as Washington & Jefferson made it back-to-back wins on its spring break trip to the east coast following an 18-0 shutout of the College of Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday afternoon.

The Presidents (5-1) grabbed 15 of the match's draw controls, including four by sophomore Brittney Oake (Bell Mead, N.J./Montgomery), who added five ground balls, three goals and three assists. Oake also forced four turnovers.

Junior Courtney Schrock (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) led the offensive attack with six goals and two assists. Classmate Shannon Wagner (Venetia, Pa./Peters Twp.) added three goals, while sophomore Lauren Novak (Wexford, Pa./Pine-Richland) contributed two goals and one assist.

Junior Nikki Lu (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster), sophomores Joanne Chojecki (Lake View, N.Y./Frontier Senior) and Liz Turcik (Ligonier, Pa./Miss Halls School) and freshmen Kelsey Kraus (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) and Claire Pilarski (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) all netted one goal. Kraus also grabbed three draw controls and dished out one assist.

Freshman Julia McLellan (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) was untested during the first quarter in goal, while junior Amber Kuntz (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) only had to turn back one shot to preserve the save.

Sophomore Caitlin Quicksell (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) collected a game-high six ground balls and forced four turnovers, while classmate Cayla Grodotzke (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) forced a trio of CSOE turnovers.

W&J returns home to Alexandre Stadium for a Saturday home match with the Adrian Bulldogs at 2:00 pm.
