Massachusetts Maritime Falls to Massachusetts-Dartmouth

“We played our best four quarters of lacrosse this season,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Kevin Mahoney. “We were aggressive, our offense started to click, our defense really played well, and (sophomore goaltender) Cameron Crown (Walpole, MA/Walpole HS) had a phenomenal game, he made five or six really good saves. They've beaten us two years in a row and we really wanted to win this time.”

UMass Dartmouth out shot MMA, 48-28. Crown made 14 saves and gave up three goals in nearly 52 minutes before freshman Peter Foley (Northbridge, MA/Blackstone Valley Regional Tech HS) finished up, making two saves. James Hitchings played 45 minutes for the Bucs and made 13 saves, while Ryan Delaney finished up and made one save. UMD converted two of eight extra-man opportunities, while the Bucs were two for six.

UMass Dartmouth improved to 3-3 with the victory, while Mass Maritime dropped to 0-4 with the defeat. The Corsairs will return to action when they visit Wheaton Saturday.
