Dominican College Drops Decision at Molloy

Rockville Centre, NY (3/27/10) -- The Molloy College Lions topped the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 14-8, this afternoon in East Coast Conference (ECC) game held in Rockville Centre, NY.

Molloy jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, but Dominican quickly answered back with two consecutive goals to take a 2-1 lead. Jesse Peterson (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) netted DC's first goal off the assist from Alex Jones (St. Albert, AB) and Remo Montalbano (Saugerties, NY) tallied the Chargers' second goal.

After a 2-0 run by the Lions, DC once again rallied with two straight goals with Peterson's second goal of the game off the pass from Montalbano and Korin Pierece (Middleburg, VA) netting a goal off the dish from Peterson for 4-3 DC lead. A MC goal closed out the first quarter with a 4-4 tie.

Dominican opened the second quarter with two straight goals as Pierce recorded his second goal of the game and Daniel Metoyer (San Diego, CA) netted his first goal of the game for a 6-4 lead.

The Lions roared back with a 6-0 run to take a 10-6, before Montalbano broke the run with goal off the assist from Peterson to make the score 10-7. A 4-0 MC run put the game away to rebuild a 14-7 lead and DC closed out the game on a Jones goal off the pass from Michael Holl (Montvale, NJ) for the final 14-8 score.

Goalie Brendan Bonacum (Port Jefferson Station, NY) made 16 saves in 56:19, while Andrew Slater (Brookfield, CT) played the final 3:41 of regulation.

With the loss Dominican falls 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the ECC.
