Eagles Power Past Monks in Team's NAC Opener

Bangor, Me Husson University battled past Saint Joseph's for a 14-5 win in the North Atlantic Conference opener at Husson's Boucher field. Ben Landry (So., Lewiston, ME) led the Eagles, scoring 6 goals on the win. Husson improves to 2-4 and 1-0 in the conference. Saint Joseph's falls to 3-4 and 0-1 in the conference.

In the first period, Husson scored the game's first four goals with Chris Pelletier (Fy., Rome, ME) tallying a goal during an extra-man opportunity. With just 15 seconds left in the first period, Saint Joseph's Dylan Chase (Fy., West Newbury, MA) scored the Monks' first goal of the game off an assist by Spencer Hunt (Fy., Jeffersonville, VT).

In the second period, Saint Joseph's would take advantage of man-up opportunities to score three goals, bringing the score to 5-3 with Husson leading. Husson collected a man-down and man-up goal in the third period to claim an 11-5 lead. The Eagles shutout Monks during the fourth period, scoring 3 goals to end the game at 14-5.

Saint Joseph's Christopher Driscoll (Fy., Saco, ME) recorded 18 saves on the loss. Husson's John Hooper (Fy., Wakefield, RI) tallied 6 saves in 25:36 minutes while Alex Behzad (Fy., Stamford, CT) made 5 saves in 34:24.
