HAMILTON, N.Y. - Navy senior middie Patrick Moran (Annapolis, Md.) fired in his third goal of the game with 1:37 elapsed in overtime to lead the Navy men's lacrosse team to a 10-9 victory over Colgate Saturday afternoon at Andy Kerr Stadium in Hamilton, N.Y. The Mids outscored the Raiders 5-1 over the final 15-plus minutes of regulation that featured Moran's equalizer with 22.3 seconds remaining to force extra minutes.

"There are plenty of good things to talk about that happened in this game, but I am disappointed that we put ourselves into the position of having to claw our way back into the game," said Navy head coach Richie Meade. "We've been able to fight our way this season through the highs and lows and for that I am proud of our guys. But we've got to start playing an entire 60 minutes."

Shots and goals came fast and furious for the Raiders in the opening half, as Colgate built an early 3-0 lead thanks in part to its speed and also the Mids' inability to slide. Rookie middie Peter Baum came up with the first two goals for the Raiders, including a spectacular shot he caught on the run and punched in over Navy shorty Marty Gallagher (Wayne, Pa.).
