Sigel and Schnurr Lead Shippensburg over Shepherd
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Sandy Sigel and Karen Schnurr each scored four goals to lead Shippensburg to a 22-2 win over Shepherd University in women's lacrosse action at Shippensburg on Monday afternoon.
Lauren Hauck added three goals and Jessica Schubach tallied five assists for Shippensburg (4-3).
Sophomores Carly Jones (Hagerstown, MD/Smithsburg) and Melissa Neagle (Mt. Airy, MD/South Carroll) each recorded a goal for Shepherd (2-7).
Sophomore Kaitlin Drake (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) had a team-high four draw controls for the Rams.
Freshman netminder Emily Rachel (Damascus, MD/Damascus) recorded five saves for Shepherd, while Meaghan Kearney had five saves for the Lady Raiders.
Shippensburg had a 31-10 edge in shots and a 23-14 advantage in ground balls. The Lady Raiders had a 14-1 halftime lead.
The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host Hood College at 4:30 p.m. in the final home contest of the season.
