Bucknell Drops 10th in a Row as Le Moyne Wins 7th Straight

LEWISBURG, Pa. Jackie Lundblad posted four goals and an assist to lead Le Moyne to a 12-3 defeat of Bucknell in a non-league women's lacrosse game Wednesday at sunny Graham Field. Ryan Gribbon (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) had a hand in two of Bucknell's three scores with a goal and an assist.

The Dolphins won their seventh game in a row and improved to 7-3 on the season, while Bucknell dropped its 10th straight and fell to 1-11.

The Bison got out to a good start in this one, taking a 1-0 lead on Gribbon's goal off a nice feed from behind the cage by Becca Devine (Arlington, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes). Lundblad tied the game three minutes later, but Bucknell went back ahead 2-1 when Gribbon drew a foul on the right wing, then fed Alison Heffernan (Malvern, Pa./Agnes Irwin School) in front after the restart.

It was all Le Moyne the rest of the way, however, as the Dolphins won most of the loose balls and held a considerable time of possession advantage. That led to a 9-0 scoring run that lasted nine minutes into the second half.

Le Moyne scored the final five goals of the first half, coming from five different players, although the Bison defense turned in a lengthy stand on the final possession of the half to keep it a 6-2 game at intermission. In the second stanza, the Dolphins scored four goals by the time Bucknell took its first possession.

Stephanie Dussing made it a 10-2 game 7:13 into the second half, and the Bison gained possession of the ball for the first time about a minute later.

The highlight of the second half for Bucknell came at the 20:55 mark, when senior Carol Donohue (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) scored a goal the very first time she touched the ball this season. Donohue, who suffered an Achilles tendon injury in the offseason, played a handful of possessions in the second half in her first action of the year.

Alyssa DeLorenz (Garland, Texas/Plano East) finished with 11 saves for Bucknell, while Le Moyne goalie Kelly Fucillo had eight stops. The Dolphins finished with a 29-15 shot advantage and won 10 of the first 14 draws before the Bison claimed the final three.

Bucknell returns to Patriot League play this Saturday at Holy Cross at noon.
