Bowdoin Holds off Springfield for Narrow Victory
EXETER, N.H. - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team jumped out to a 7-2 halftime lead and held off Springfield in a 9-7 victory on Wednesday evening at Exeter (N.H.) High School. The Polar Bears improve to 3-4 this season with the win while the Pride drop their third straight and fall to 2-4.
Kit Smith led Bowdoin with three goals and an assist while Steve Thomas tallied two goals. Lawton Salley, Nathan Fritts, Russell Halliday and Billy Bergner also found the back of the net for the Polar Bears, who led 4-2 after the opening period and scored three unanswered in the second quarter to take control of the game.
Christopher Williamson stopped 12 shots in the win.
