No. 10 Vanderbilt Cruises to Victory over Johns Hopkins

Rossi led the Blue Jays with her team-leading seventh hat trick of the season and now has 28 goals on the season. Sophomore Cami Kramer (Vero Beach, FL/Vero Beach) (2g) and Schrum (1g, 1a) were the only other Blue Jays with multi-point games. Sophomore Alyssa Kildare (Massapequa Park, NY/Farmingdale) led the defense with four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Freshman Cosette Larash (Crownsville, MD/Archbishop Spalding) got the start in the cage and played 34:12 with five saves and allowed 10 goals. Senior Lizzie O'Ferrall (Baltimore, MD/Mount de Sales) came on in relief and played 25:48 with five saves and allowed 10 goals.

For the Commodores, Downing led six different players with multi-point games, finishing with five goals and four assists. Denkler (4g, 2a), Pittinger (3g), Ally Carey (3g), Anastasia Adam (2a) and Emily Franke (1g, 4a) all produced multi-point games. Natalie Wills got the start and the win for Vanderbilt, stopping five shots and allowing nine goals in 52:40. Chelsea Pasfield came on in the closing minutes and made one save while allowing three goals.

Hopkins returns to action on Tuesday, April 13 at Mount St. Mary's. Opening draw from Waldron Family Stadium is slated for 5:00 pm.
