Blazers Race Past Wilson for Victory

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's lacrosse team (4-8) dealt visiting Wilson College (0-5) a 16-2 defeat Tuesday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field. Ten different Blazers contributed to the scoring with either a goal or an assist.

Jen Civick notched her first career hat trick, logging the first three goals of her Blazer lacrosse career. Kelsey Blackwell, Jessie Tegaue, Caitlin Lawrence, Katie Vu and Brandy Noel all scored a pair of goals while Julia Banks, Jennifer Fischer and Helene Butler registered one apiece.

Blackwell set up two Blazer scores while Civick, Teague and Lauren Perzan were also credited with one assist each.

Hood outshot the Phoenix, 32-5, and won 16 of the 20 draws in the game. Miriah Stone scopped up five draws while Banks tallied four ground balls and forced three Wilson turnovers.

The Blazers next host Ferrum College Friday at 4:30 p.m. in a nonleague tilt.
