Elizabethtown Shuts Down Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hana Krechel set a new single-season mark for goals in a season as LVC fell to Elizabethtown, 21-2, in MAC action on Tuesday at Arnold Field.

The Dutchmen (4-4, 2-3 MAC) were held to just three shots by the MAC preseason favorite Blue Jays (7-3, 6-0 MAC), who stayed perfect in league play with the win.

Krechel had a single goal, her 36th of the season, to surpass the single-season mark of 35 set by Jean Coleman '87 in the 1984 season. The freshman reached 36 goals in just eight games this season.

E-town wasted no time as they scored four times in the opening 1:28 of the game on the way to an 11-0 lead.

Krechel stopped the run with her unassisted goal at 7:30 left in the first, and Kristin Clift added one less than a minute later off Amanda Cubbage's pass forward.

But that would be all the scoring for LVC as the Blue Jays added five more to end the first half, and five more in the second. Katie Caprinolo led Elizabethtown with four goals, while Katie Scheurich and Samantha Redles had hat tricks. Stephanie Kreis contributed two goals and four assists.

Erica Ameigh had six saves in the loss, while counterpart Rachael Waldman stopped a single shot. The Blue Jays outshot LVC 29-3, and a tough E-town defense held LVC to 8 for 25 on clears while causing 17 of LVC's 32 turnovers.

LVC will host Manhattanville on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
