Crusaders Keep Rolling, Rout Neumann to Win 6th Straight

ASTON, Pa. - Freshman midfielder Lindsey Derstine (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) scored a game-high four goals, assisted on another and collected a game-high seven draw controls to lead Susquehanna University to a 19–8 non-conference women's lacrosse victory at Neumann University on April 7.

Susquehanna (7–4 overall) has scored at least 16 goals in each of its last five games while building a six-game winning streak.

SU led from start to finish in this game, outscoring Neumann (2–9 overall), 11–3, in the first half before an 8–5 second half.

The Crusaders' freshman attack Phoebe Nicholls (Princeton, N.J./Rutgers Prep) and sophomore attack Ally Bauer (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) both scored three times. Nicholls added one assist. Teammate and sophomore attack Erin Dyer (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) scored twice.

SU's junior attack Kirsten Detwiler (Montchanin, Del./Wilmington Friends) scored a goal and assisted on two others. Junior midfielder Sarah Wright (Princeton, N.J./Princeton HS) notched one goal and one assist to go with six draw controls.

Teammate and sophomore midfielder Marra Landino (Brownsville, Vt./Kimball Union Academy) scored once and scooped up a team-high four ground balls. Junior defender Abbie Handerhan (Arlington, Va./Connelly School of Holy Child), freshman defender Ainsley Rossitto (Rocky Hill, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) and freshman midfielder Emily Walsh (Ringwood, N.J./DePaul Catholic) all recorded one goal.

Freshman attack Alicia Large (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) and junior attack Janey Arronson (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Harriton) both picked up one assist for the Crusaders.

Teammate and sophomore defender Brittany McCann (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) recorded a team-high two caused turnovers.

Freshman Emily Stankaitis (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls–Lima) earned the win in goal, improving to 6–3 this season by making five saves in all 60 minutes.

SU outshot the Knights, 41–15, and dominated the draw controls, 23–6.
